Tuesday:

This is a lengthy assignment. You may finish it on Thursday. 


Read all articles on the inside of the week 20 newspaper or online at studiesweekly.com.

 

Answer Think & Review Questions 6-8 while reading. (You answered 1-5 last week.) You DO NOT have to write down your answers...you may highlight them instead. In addition, highlight the answer to the following questions: 


1.Where did the Corps of Discovery spend the winter of 1805-1806? 

2.Which member of the Corps of Discovery was the most dedicated to journal writing?

3.What food item did they bring along but didn’t enjoy eating?

You are not required to send me your work on this assignment. This highlighting will help you on the test.



Thursday:

Finish Tuesday’s assignment.


You may go ahead and take your week 20 test online or take the paper test and email me a picture of it. The test is not due until Tuesday, May 12, but you have the option to take it early if you choose. This is for a grade.

“Westward Expansion” (graded) Due this Friday. Remember to login using Google. 

Alternate assignment for those without internet access: On the back of the week 20 newspaper, complete the Mapping & Charting activity and send me a picture of completed work. 

Helpful Notes: 

Without the Louisiana Purchase, there would not have been land in the West where Americans could move. The Louisiana Purchase made western expansion and the belief in Manifest Destiny possible.

 


Thursday:

Read the cover story “Have I Got a Deal for You” in the week 20 newspaper or online at studiesweekly.com.

 

Answer Think & Review Questions 1-5 while reading this article. You may find the answers in the text and highlight them instead of writing the answers on paper if you choose. In addition, highlight the answer to the following question: How much did Jefferson tell Livingston to offer France for New Orleans? You are not required to send me your work on this assignment.
