Mrs. Hannah

Mrs. Hannah

I am the wife to an endearing husband and a mother to a curious and funny son. I began my teaching career following my studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham as an art educator in Hoover City Schools. I then returned to Jacksonville State University to obtain my master’s degree in library media. I served as the librarian at Hokes Bluff Middle School for three and one-half years. In addition, I served on the problem solving RtI team, as art teacher, technology coordinator, and webmaster. In the fall of 2014, I came to Hokes Bluff Elementary School to serve as the librarian. During the 2015-2016 school year, I began serving at the HBES Yearbook sponsor. In December 2017, I became a certified NBCT and received my National Board Certification in Library Media. In the spring of 2018, I began serving on the Leadership Team here at HBES. Over the summer of 2020, I became a Level 1: Google Certified Educator.
My goal is to have an engaging library media center for our school’s students, faculty, staff, and community. I want to teach students to LOVE reading for the pure simple JOY of it!
I am noted on Twitter as being God loving, a reader, dreamer, life-long learner, artist, librarian, tech. lover and educator. When my bag is packed at the end of the day you will find enclosed a book, digital device, paper, and pen. Although I am a techie, I still enjoy the smell of real paper and not smearing the ink before it dries.
